The U.S. SEC approves Paxos subsidiary to register as a clearing agency

According to Cointelegraph, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has approved Paxos subsidiary Paxos Securities Settlement Company to register as a clearing agency, making it the first "blockchain-native" company to obtain this qualification. Paxos stated that as blockchain technology continues to integrate with traditional capital markets, this approval marks a "key component of financial infrastructure." The registered blockchain clearing agency eliminates the barriers for banks and brokers to build cryptocurrency infrastructure.
